THE CHARACTER

Seventeen centimetres
of paper that moves

Mandy's white mask sits inside a wreath of cream roses, with brass cups over the ears. A large pocket watch hangs on the front of the red vest, between big white sleeves. Round brass plates cover the knees above red boots. Expect small pieces and a slow, patient cut.

Steampunk belongs to the STEAMPUNK cast - one style, one scale. They stand next to each other on a shelf as if they had always known each other.

FROM FILE TO DOLL

Four steps, about
thirty minutes

  1. Print at 100%Any home printer. 160-200 gsm paper holds a joint best. Never use "fit to page" - it changes the height.
  2. Cut along the edge of each partNail scissors are enough. No knife, no cutting mat, no special table.
  3. Pierce the marked holesA needle, an awl, or the tip of a compass. Every hole is marked where the joint belongs.
  4. Join with a bradDo not overtighten - the joint needs to move. No brads at home? A thread with a loose knot works the same way.
